Clear Aligners

In recent years, there have been new aligner systems come on the market. We now have more options for you to correct your smile. While we offer Invisalign, there are occasions when we will offer the SureSmile® Clear Aligner System. The process is much the same as with Invisalign with a few exceptions. We are able to offer SureSmile® Clear Aligners to teens and adults if the dental conditions present make you a candidate for this type of appliance.

How do Clear Aligners work?

We complete an intraoral scan of your teeth and submit digital data to SureSmile®. Our doctors use their software to move your teeth into the proper position and bite. The software then decides how many stages or aligners will be required to guide your teeth into that ideal position. We then produce 3D printed models of your teeth for each stage of tooth movements. We custom make each or your aligners in our in-house lab.

SureSmile® Clear Aligners perform much like Invisalign and are a series of custom-made smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible plastic dental appliances made on models of your teeth. The aligners have programmed tooth movements built into them to guide teeth into the doctor directed positions. Since aligners are removable, you can take them out when it is time to eat, brush or floss your teeth.

Each aligner will be worn about 1-2 weeks each. You will receive a group of aligners and return for appointments to monitor your progress then receive the next series of aligners until completion.

SureSmile® provides us with the added flexibility to offer you a more affordable option for clear aligner therapy. Typically, we offer SureSmile® over Invisalign when we feel we can obtain the same results at a better value for our patients. One example of this would be for someone that didn’t wear their original retainer and as a result has experienced minor tooth movements.
