Our Story

Dr. Shelley Tardy grew up in Lubbock, Texas.  She competed as a Division I athlete in track and cross country at Texas Tech University. After college she began dental school at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. She had her first child, Calvin, during dental school while maintaining a high class ranking to be accepted in an orthodontic program.  She was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), a very selective dental honor society.  After graduation from dental school, Dr. Tardy moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to study the dental specialty of orthodontics.

Upon completion of her orthodontic program, she returned to Texas. Shortly after returning to Texas her daughter, Camry, was born. Dr. Tardy started a new orthodontic practice and established what is now called Tardy Orthodontics. She originally opened her practice in Arlington, Texas and then shortly after expanded to Mansfield, Texas. Eventually, she decided to combine the offices into one location and practice full time in Mansfield. At that time, Mansfied was a small community with only one High School.  Tardy Orthodontics has always been a family business. Calvin and Camry grew up being at the office and immersed in the private practice.
