Your Dentist, Orthodontist or your Oral Surgeon may determine that you need a tooth extracted. This may be the case for several reasons:
- Some teeth need to be removed because they are severely damaged or may have significant periodontal disease and bone loss
- Some teeth have excessive decay and are too far deteriorated to be repaired
- Other teeth may need to be extracted because they are poorly positioned or in preparation for orthodontic treatment
Before having a tooth or multiple teeth removed, make sure you have a comprehensive plan in place with your dentist, oral surgeon or orthodontist. To avoid complications from missing teeth, our doctors will discuss extractions, alternatives as well as replacements for extracted or missing teeth.
